Mesothelioma Types
There are 3 main types of mesotheliomas based on histological appearance of the cells involved :
Epithelioid Mesothelioma : This is the most general type. It tends to have a better prognosis and survival rates than the other types.
Sarcomatoid Mesothelioma (fibrous) : About 2 or 4 out of 10 mesotheliomas are of this type.
Mixed (biphasic) Mesothelioma : This type has mixed features of the two types menstioned above. About 3 or 5 out of 10 mesotheliomas are of this type.
